Weber’s July 4th grill discounts are indeed sizzling, but let’s roast them with some thoughtful counterpoints!

First off, the Weber Spirit E-325 at $499 for propane or $549 for natural gas is a solid deal, but it begs the question: how often do we really need three burners? For the occasional backyard BBQ, sure, it’s reliable. Yet, when you compare it to other brands like Napoleon or Char-Broil, which also offer 3-burner models at similar prices during sales, Weber’s claim of being $50 cheaper than rivals feels a bit overstated—especially since Home Depot sometimes matches these discounts seamlessly.

Then there’s the Slate griddle: the 30-inch version at $649 beats Home Depot by $50, but only for propane. Natural gas lovers might find themselves shelling out an extra fifty bucks compared to Home Depot’s comparable rates. And while it can cook 22 burgers at once—impressive!—does it really matter if you’re not hosting a block party? Plus, the wind guards are nice, but they won’t stop your neighbor from stealing your Wi-Fi signal.

The portable 17-inch tabletop griddle is $249—a steal for camping. However, if you factor in the disposable propane cylinder (not included), that $50 discount might evaporate faster than a summer rain shower. Plus, its 500-degree heat is great, but can it really sear a steak as perfectly as Weber’s own Searwood series?

Lastly, the Searwood XL 600 at $1,199 with a whopping 972 square inches of cooking space is deluxe indeed—$100 off! Yet, for those who only grill a few burgers a week, the smaller Searwood 600 at $599 (also discounted) might be more than enough. And let’s not forget pellet grills are all the rage these days; Weber could have thrown in a comparison to Traeger or Camp Chef models for added context.

So while Weber’s July 4th deals are hot, they’re not without their grill marks—pun intended!
